Laulima Government Solutions is looking for a Telemetry Specialist to work within the Vet Med Division on our United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) contract at Fort Detrick, Maryland.    

The candidate shall independently assemble, calibrate, and test telemetry systems; troubleshoot electronic and software communication issues, and independently perform telemetry support for animal studies in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 biocontainment laboratory environments. Workload is approximately twenty (20) research studies per year.

Candidate shall operate and maintain the telemetry systems in a validated state for use in GLP animal studies. Approximately fifteen (15) to twenty-five (25) validated systems per year.

Shall maintain a safe and secure storage and backup of all original data files; tabulate and analyze telemetry data and provide results to Telemetry Support SME for review.

Shall maintain inventory of all telemetry system components to include hardware and software.

Shall operate and maintain telemetry systems (e.g., DSI, Stellar and NOTOCORD) in a validated state as required for use in GLP animal studies; and assist in the maintenance and validation of telemetry equipment as needed.

Shall be trained in GLP and maintain records at that standard IAW all applicable regulations and USAMRIID SOPs. Shall author, revise and review SOPs as needed. Candidate will appropriately respond to regulatory audits and CAPAs within the required timelines.

Shall assist in the coordination and collaboration with scientists and technical staff within the Institute to provide telemetry services to include assisting in the training of study personnel on basic telemetry functions and data review.

Shall assist in the preparation of the monthly Telemetry Technical Report.

Shall hold and maintain BPRP status IAW the provisions in this contract and applicable regulations.

Degree/Education/Certification Requirements:

Associate’s degree in related discipline or relevant technical certification.

Required Skills and Experience:

1-2 years’ experience with clinical or non-clinical telemetry systems.

Coordination with research or medical teams in a clinical or non-clinical setting.

Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of telemetry equipment.

Experience and ability to utilize MS Office tools:

-MS Word

-MS Outlook

-MS Excel

-MS PowerPoint

Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a variety of study partners.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Laboratory experience in a BSL 2, BSL 3, or BSL 4 setting

Laboratory animal handling experience

Experience in a GLP environment

Experience with FileMaker, Oracle Platforms, MS Access, or other laboratory databases

Medical maintenance experience is a plus
